Gender Reveal Party, Hog Roast Alfreton

Last week, we were lucky enough to cater for a gender reveal party with a Hog Roast in Alfreton. As these types of parties are a relatively new trend, this was our first time cooking for one. The expectant parents booked us having found our website online, they had already looked over the menu and knew exactly what food they wanted so the whole booking process was relatively easy, we wanted to make this time as stress free as possible for them and give them a party to remember.

The couple had opted for a minimal menu with spit roasted pig served in soft bread rolls, they had also supplied their own cake, baked by a friend, which would reveal the gender of their little one.

Our staff were all excited for this party and we made sure to arrive within plenty of time to cook and prepare the yummy meal. As we were cooking and the meat was getting nice and tender, some of the staff members were talking to the parents to be. The excitement for the reveal was in the air as all the guests started arriving. The plan was for everybody to eat and then to cut the cake after all the food was cleared up.

As we expected, everyone was eager to eat almost as soon as they arrived because they wanted to know the gender. Although, we were relieved to hear people chatting eagerly about the food, we have to admit that the pig was looking (and smelling) very appetising.

When we announced that the food was ready the guests queued up for a taste, with a lot coming back for a second bread roll. We received a lot of heart-warming compliments, and it was wonderful to hear the mother to be praising the food, as earlier she was telling us that she had barely been able to eat anything. By the time everyone had finished eating all of the food was gone and we looked around the quaint back garden to see lots of extremely full and happy guests.

We cleared up the left over plates and our equipment in time for the reveal and our team couldn’t resist staying to find out the gender of the little bundle. Everyone there was overjoyed at the news there would soon be a new little girl coming in to the world!
We congratulated the lucky parents before we left, all of us hoping that we could cater for a party like this again. A lovely Hog Roast in Alfreton for a lovely family to be.
