Hog Roast Clay Cross is renowned around Derbyshire and beyond for cooking sumptuous hog and spit roasts but what you may not know is that we offer plenty of additional and alternative dishes too. For many years now, we’ve catered events and parties with all kinds of delicious culinary offerings, including barbecued meat, roasted fish, vegetarian and vegan options and so much more. From an informal buffet of our pigs in buns to a formal banquet with courses served by waiters, Hog Roast Clay Cross can bring so much more to the table than you might have expected – literally!
For a 30th birthday party that we catered recently, we were asked for our Private Party Menu Option 4. This particular menu has several main courses for you to choose from, including a slow-roasted pig, a spring lamb, a whole turkey, a free-range chicken, sirloin of roast beef, barbecued burgers and sausages, or chicken kebabs and spare ribs, as well as a vegetarian option such as veggie skewers. With the Private Party Menu Option 4, you can also choose either three fresh salad dishes or seasonal vegetables to accompany your meat as well as a potato option from jacket wedges, a new potato salad, warm new potatoes in a herb butter, jacket potatoes, or new potatoes with rosemary and garlic and we also supply various baps and wraps and a selection of sauces. There’s so much for you to choose from with this amazing menu!
Hog Roast Clay Cross was asked to cater for 50 guests at this garden party, providing a slow-roasted spring lamb, which would be seasoned with rosemary and served with mint and a mustard and dill sauce and new potatoes, as well as tomato, mixed leaf and Caesar salads. We were also asked for a vegetarian option, which is often popular, and for this party, it would be grilled vegetable and halloumi wraps with a tzatziki sauce. We can always provide alternative dishes if notified in advance.
By 5pm, the guests starting to queue up for a bite, and our Hog Roast Clay Cross team served some really tasty food outside in the sunshine.
