There’s something timeless about a traditional hog roast, the aroma, the golden crackling, the slow roasted tenderness that draws everyone in. This week, we had the pleasure of bringing our signature Hog Roast Swadlincote menu to life, serving up a feast that had guests coming back for seconds (and thirds!).
The star of the show was, of course, our whole roasted pig with perfectly crisp crackling, carved fresh on site and served with our classic apple sauce and sage & onion stuffing. Every slice was juicy and packed with flavour, the kind of roast that makes you pause for a moment just to savour it.
To make sure there was something for everyone, we offered a tempting selection of bread rolls and wraps, with gluten-free rolls available on request so that no one had to miss out.
We also made sure our vegetarian and vegan guests were treated to dishes every bit as delicious as the hog roast itself. Our grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (with a halloumi-free version for vegans) came with soft wraps, cooling tzatziki, and a sweet chilli sauce with a lively punch. For those craving smoky barbecue flavour, our vegan pulled jackfruit, steeped in rich hickory BBQ sauce and topped with a crunchy slaw, proved a massive hit.
Everything was served onto convenient disposable plates with napkins, so guests could mingle, chat, and enjoy their food without worrying about formal dining. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, with the mouthwatering scent of the roast filling the air.
