John and Elise met when they both began working in the same restaurant almost 40 years ago. Working so closely together, they soon found themselves becoming friends and a relationship began to develop. Before long, they tied the knot and this year are celebrating their 30th wedding ceremony. For the occasion, the couple hired a marquee to place in their back garden so that they would have space to accommodate the 80 guests, as well as space for a DJ and a dancefloor for the evening’s entertainment. For the catering, our manager Martin was hired to provide a classic Hog Roast Ilkeston main meal, followed by a delicious dessert course. Our team were more than happy to get involved with this event and it was bound to be a great party.
On the day of the anniversary, Martin and the Hog Roast Ilkeston team arrived at the marquee and began setting up our catering station. We began to prepare the main course, which included slow-roasted pork and all of the trimmings. The menu was served buffet style, allowing guests to choose their vegetable dishes, roasted potatoes, sage and onion stuffing, tasty crackling, and fresh applesauce.
Following the main course, the guests chose between chocolate torte and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The dishes were accompanied by English cream and fresh berries to create a delicious final course.
