Now that social distancing restrictions have started easing off enough to allow people to meet in small groups, once again, Hog Roast Chatteris has been extremely busy with Gourmet Delivery orders lately.
Just before the 29th of March, the date which commenced the first of four lockdown-easing phases, our team had received a call from, Jennifer. Over the phone, the client went on to explain how much she wanted to be able to make her father, Steve’s, 70th birthday as memorable as possible, and to do so, she needed our help.
Our catering manager, Martin, was, as usual, all ears, and after listening to the customer’s food preferences and event goals, he was able to recommend a flavourful combination of our most stunning dishes that worked well for everyone involved – especially for self-confessed, hog-roast-lover, Steve!
In the end, it was decided that our signature pulled-pork-stuffed wholemeal baps, with crispy pork rinds, sage and onion stuffing and applesauce, paired with light and leafy side salads, homemade fries and new potatoes would be the best combination for everyone. But as an added treat, Jennifer had also asked that we include some of our famous chocolate torte slices for the chocolate-loving birthday boy. Hog Roast Chatteris was more than happy to handle all of Jennifer’s requests, and it seemed that our team were just as excited as the client was when the birthday drop-off went ahead on Wednesday evening.
With only six people allowed to meet outdoors, Jennifer’s get-together was limited to just her, her husband and their two children, along with Steve and his wife, Marie – but that didn’t stop them from having an absolute blast!
Even before Martin arrived with the aromatic hog roast delivery, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Hog Roast Chatteris received a warm welcome when we delivered the dinnertime feast, which was well-received by the whole family – including the children who Jennifer had warned us can sometimes be fussy.
We have since heard back from Jennifer, who wanted to let us know that our food was a huge hit and was well and truly, devoured by the end of the night!
