On Monday Hog Roast Alderwasley were invited by Dave to attend his event at St Margaret’s Village Hall in the Derbyshire countryside. St Margaret’s hall was recently refurbished and reopened in 2011 as an eco-friendly venue and is a great location to suit a range of occasions including weddings and family gatherings. For this particular event, Dave had invited 60 of his closest friends and family to join him on this summer evening and catering manager Martin and his team were ready to serve up a feast! As the event wasn’t starting until 7pm, Hog Roast Alderwasley arrived late afternoon and were able to set up their marquee in the little courtyard outside the hall. There was also a small garden to the side of the hall which was great for guests to mingle in, the weather was a bit grey but we all crossed our fingers and the rain stayed away!
Dave had opted for us to provide wooden crockery for the event which was great as it minimised any hassle on his part. The guests were able to choose from our Southern slow roast menu which consisted of BBQ pork butt, beef brisket and Cajun roast chicken. Hog Roast Alderwasley also provided sides of coleslaw, Greek salad, baked potatoes and corn cobettes which really were the perfect additions for a light but delicious summer dinner. Vegetarian guests were also delighted with delicious grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers served with pitta breads and a tzatziki dip. Everyone filled their plates and commented on how great the food was, the meats in particular.
Dave was delighted with how his event turned out, he loved how the whole evening was very relaxed and well organised and made life very easy for him! At the end of the night our team cleared up (including the crockery) and left the guests to head into the hall to enjoy the rest of their night.
