Here at Hog Roast Breaston, we take great pride in our work, and we love being able to help out members of our local community through the creation of show-stopping menu items, like our namesake hog roast! This feast of slow-roasted, free-range pork is perfect for elevating the tone of any event and giving guests something to bond over, which comes in especially handy when catering to a room full of strangers like we did last weekend!
Our catering team had been approached by Harry in the lead-up to his charity event last Saturday, which aimed to raise awareness and funds for a fantastic cause. This immediately sparked our interest, and, right away, our crew knew this event was something they wanted to be involved in.
Our catering manager, Martin, then listened to everything the client had to say about the number of guests, the time of the event, the atmosphere he hoped to create and the budget he was working with. After all of that, Martin was able to recommend our Alfresco Menu to the client, which is known for turning strangers into fast friends due to the communal aspect of the antipasti boards and buffet. Harry agreed this would be perfect and decided to go ahead with Martin’s suggestion.
Fast forward to the day of the event, Hog Roast Breaston arrived at the client’s chosen venue, which was a nearby golfing green. Once our team had unloaded the van, they quickly erected a marquee in the field and filled the inside up with round tables and dining chairs for the guests to sit at. Martin then took the lead in preparing the feast, which consisted of a show-stopping hog roast with crackling, stuffing and freshly made applesauce, a basket of gluten-free rolls and wraps, colourful salad options, coleslaw and mixed fries. They also prepared grilled vegetable kebabs for the vegetarian/vegan attendees and set out an antipasti platter of Italian meats, cheeses and artisan breads on each of the tables.
Just as Harry had hoped, Hog Roast Breaston’s involvement in this event helped the guests to relax and unwind, which led to everyone having a great time – and since everyone was having so much fun, the charity pot filled up with donations fast!
