As we all know, catering for a crowd of kids is not always the easy feat we wish it was. More often than not, children are less adventurous with food than adults are and they tend to want to steer clear of anything that even remotely resembles a vegetable. But don’t despair, because here at Hog Roast Castleton, we’ve got children’s catering down to a fine art!
With a vast selection of menu items to choose from, which includes a range of child-friendly recipes, we can deliver group dining solutions that your little ones won’t be able to resist. What’s more, our food is made fresh on-site in the hours leading up to your event and we only use the finest locally-sourced ingredients, so you can rest assured that your kids are not only eating something delicious but nutritious too!
A few months ago, Hog Roast Castleton was approached by Erin, who was looking for an expert catering service to help her out with her daughter, Lily’s 8th birthday party. Erin had allowed Lily to invite all 22 of her classmates to the celebration, which took place at a children’s play centre, and with some vegetarians and vegans among the group, the client was in need of a menu that was inclusive to everyone’s tastes.
At the recommendation of our catering manager, Martin, Erin settled on our Gourmet BBQ Menu, which is a firm favourite among guests of all ages. This delicious spread encompasses our very own handmade 100% British beef burgers, gourmet sausages, chicken kebabs with grilled peppers and onions, meaty spareribs and a meat-free option of BBQ pulled jackfruit buns with entirely plant-based accompaniments.
The children loved digging into the tasty main courses, but Erin was even more impressed by their reaction to the sides! Our team had presented some bright and colourful salad options, along with a batch of sweet potato fries and homemade coleslaw and Erin was pleased to see the kids willingly tuck into the veg.
Our Hog Roast Castleton team was glad to be of service, and before packing up and heading back to base, Martin sliced the birthday cake, which Erin packed into goody bags for the guests to take home.
