Hog Roast Long Eaton Push the Boat Out!

We were making waves at last weeks event at Nottingham Rowing Club (formerly known as Nottingham Boat Club or Nottingham Britannia Rowing Club). Hog Roast Long Eaton were invited to cater an event for 150 people held by Mr and Mrs Griffin.

Hog Roast Long Eaton The rowing club was a really great venue, a cave style event space which was really different and unusual. We were also in great company as in the past the club has been host to bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and The Sex Pistols! Martin and his team set up and it was plain sailing (sorry!) getting the food ready for the guests arrival at 5pm. Mr and Mrs Griffin had opted for a classic hog roast which is perfect for a private party of this size. Hog Roast Long Eaton provided wooden plates and cutlery and the guests could help themselves to slow roasted pig served with apple sauce, stuffing and crispy crackling on soft floured rolls. As there were some vegetarian guests we were also asked to prepare grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers served with pitta breads and a tzatziki dip. We also had hand cut chips as a side because…who doesn’t love chips?!

Clients often ask us how many people a hog will feed, as a rule an average sized pig will feed around 100 people but it will also depend on the side dishes provided too. This is something we can always discuss with you when booking with us to ensure there is enough food to go around! Guests commented how tender and delicious the meat was and were very complimentary of Martin and how friendly the team were. As the party went on, Hog Roast Long Eaton got packed up and also cleared away the leftover rubbish, we hope Mr and Mrs Griffin enjoyed the rest of their night and that no one went “overboard” on the wine!
