Unfortunately, badly behaving weather can often play hazard when it comes time to celebrate special events (especially if said events take place outdoors!), and last weekend the Hog Roast Swadlincote team were faced with grey skies and torrential rain while catering for a christening at a private home in the local area, but just like music legend Freddie Mercury once said, ”the show must go on!”
Before contacting the Hog Roast Swadlincote team, Natalie had experienced her fair share of dried out, bland and quite frankly, underwhelming hog roasts – sadly we’ve all been there, am I right? Fortunately for her, she stumbled upon our services and after talking through our wide variety of options with our talented catering manager Martin, Natalie decided that there was no one better to pull off her little girl’s christening than our experienced team.
With a guest list of 70 people to feed, Natalie decided on our classic hog roast menu which is known to entice even the fussiest of eaters. Succulent slow-roasted pig served with sweet applesauce and perfectly crispy crackling, spring lamb seasoned with rosemary served with mint and a mustard and dill sauce and our locally sourced free-range chicken with stuffing and homemade onion gravy is always popular among guests.
Before long it was time for the special day and much to Natalie’s satisfaction, she didn’t have to intervene with the catering crew, as under the leadership of Martin, the Hog Roast Swadlincote team worked against the clock to set up the gazebos before launching themselves into brining our famous mouth-watering menu to life. Tantalising scents of our juicy, slow-roasted meats and grilled vegetable and haloumi skewers and fresh rolls soon filled the air and the guests queued up to get their fill.
Despite the gloomy weather, everyone remained in high spirits throughout the day and Natalie and her guests couldn’t have been happier with the variety and quality of food on offer. In fact, Natalie has recently been in contact with us to thank Martin for taking the stresses of catering off her hands and since her daughter’s christening she has already recommended our services to friends and family.
