As the season starts to change we also start to change how we do our events. More focus is given to the access to sites and also lighting can be a problem for us. Of course this does not distract us from providing a superb event for our clients! We always try and undertake a site visit to venues were are not familiar with to ensure we have enough space to work from.
We recently catered for a wedding at a local venue in Church Gresley, where the weather was fantastic for an informal event. A crisp, sunny afternoon arrived and we started to set up for the guests arrival, who were to be welcomed with a range of canapes. For this event the client requested a bespoke range of canapes so we offered some mini burgers, mini cheese toasties and a tiny shot of beer! The guests loved the quirkiness of the offerings and it was very pleasing to hear such lovely comments.
The guests were then treated to a delicious hog roast in Church Gresley with sides of new potatoes in garlic butter and rosemary, plus a selection of salads. Of course the traditional accompaniments of apple sauce, crackling and stuffing were available!
Evening entertainment came in the form of a fantastic live band who were lucky enough to be able to set up outside and continue the relaxed and informal theme of the evening. The guests kept on returning for seconds which is always fantastic!
At the end of the night the happy couple came and spoke with us advising they had had such a happy day and the food played a big part in that. They loved our quirky ideas for the starters which were a great accompaniment to the traditional hog roast. A fantastic end to a fantastic day and a happy lot of customers!
