Martin and Sue first met at University and 15 years and 3 kids down the line, he finally got around to proposing to her! Their family, friends and children were all delighted of course and couldn’t wait to see them finally walk down the aisle.
They didn’t want a big fancy wedding, but they did want some elegant food to celebrate their long overdue nuptials, and with 100 guests spanning 3 generations, they thought they had their work cut out trying to please everyone!
They weren’t worried for long though, because as soon as they saw Hog Roast Bakewell’s varied and exciting wedding menu options, they knew they had found exactly what they were looking for!
As the couple didn’t want it to be too much a formal affair but still wanted a touch a class, they opted for our canape and main course package, with their wedding cake also being delicately dressed and served by the multiskilled Hog Roast Bakewell team!
Whilst the wedding party were at the registry office finally watching Sue walk down the aisle, we were already well on in our preparations. As we always prepare everything from scratch at the venue using our fabulous locally-sourced ingredients, we arrived at the function room long before the bride had even started getting ready!
With service due at 2pm, our catering assistants were putting the finishing touches to our handcrafted canapes-an exotic collection this time, including halloumi kebabs, dim sum and mini chicken skewers, whilst our chef was ensuring our trademark slow-roasted pork was cooked to perfection. As an additional meat, the couple went for our superb fresh range chicken, served with onion gravy and chipolata stuffing, all accompanied by seasonal veg and rosemary roast potatoes.
When everyone arrived, they were blown away by the canape selection presented to them by our resident front of house expert and just as impressed by the rest of the meal!
It may have taken a long time for Martin to pop the question, but everyone agreed it was definitely worth the wait and the couple were really pleased they had chosen Hog Roast Bakewell to do the honours for them on their long-waited wedding day!
