We have been inundated with Christmas bookings and New Years Eve parties here at hog roast Clowne. Halloween and bonfire night was our busiest ever in the weeks before and after and it seems to get busier every single year. But even the weeks leading up to every occasion we are still busy. This week was no different and we were busy up and down the country for several birthday events and from customers old and new.
Sunday we were catering for a new customer who had never tasted a hog roast Clowne before we love it when people taste our food for the very first time. The client had ordered a pig and was eager to taste our delicious crackling for his 50th birthday. We arrived nice and early and brought with us an assortment of food.
As the pig cooked we began to prepare the side dishes we made a lovely potatoes salad and fresh green salad and a creamy coleslaw. As the meat was just about cooked we scored the skin and rubbed in handfuls of rock salt to make the most perfect cracking imaginable! The guests had started to arrive and we were ready to serve we first removed the cracking and cut it into strips and placed it in huge servers as the guests helped them selves to slices we them shredded the moist succulent pork the smell was amazing and guest helped them selves to salad and coleslaw and made huge sandwiches. We had lots of compliments about the crackling, as we knew we would when people taste the crackling for the first time they are always more than impressed and always ask us how we do it? But we always say the real praise goes to our first class machines that never let us down time and time again our cracking is unlike any other! As we cleared always we chatted to guests who asked if we could cater for them too and we were more than happy to say yes. We are busy every week of the year and we wouldn’t have it any other way being busy is what we love best here at hog roast Clowne.
