Lily Valley is an arts college in Derbyshire that wanted to host an awards night for the students in their final year. The awards night was taking place in one of the lecture halls, with catering served outdoors after the ceremony. There were awards for all kinds of things, including academic and personal achievements, as well as memories from their time in education. For the event, the college reached out to Hog Roast Buxton to arrange buffet catering for the 200 staff and students in attendance. They decided on a BBQ menu since it is the most versatile, with something for everyone to enjoy.
While the ceremony was taking place, our team were hard at work preparing the dishes for the BBQ. This included a variety of main dishes, such as vegetable skewers, sausages, beef burgers, and ribs. The mains were served with corn cobbettes, roasted baby new potatoes, homemade coleslaw, and mixed salad- as well as sweet potato fries and home style chips. This created a delicious and varied menu, with many different tastes and textures. This was essential when catering for such a varied group of guests, but it ensured that there was something that everyone could enjoy!
