It was an exciting week for the team at Hog Roast Loughborough, who helped another family to celebrate in style. The event was an anniversary party to celebrate the marriage of David and Dorothy, but there was a catch – neither David or Dorothy knew anything about it. The masterminds behind the scheme were the happy couple’s two daughters, Claire and Jessica, who had invited a few close friends and family to attend. The plan was to set everything up in their home, whilst they were out celebrating during the day.
When Claire had managed to get David and Dorothy out of the house, their other daughter Jessica let us inside, and helped us to get everything ready. The Hog was to be cooked in the garden, where our catering assistant set up a gazebo, before hanging banners and balloons and lighting candles to set a nice atmosphere. Meanwhile our chef was busy butchering the hog and placing it on the spit to be slow roasted over the next few hours. The meat turns at it cooks, allowing it’s natural basting fluids to be dispersed evenly throughout, resulting in the most succulent, golden brown finish with crispy crackling.
When David and Dorothy returned home, their close friends and family had already arrived, and were in position to shout surprise! The happy couple were delighted with their impromptu night and loved how the room had been decorated. They ate our glorious hog roast with crusty bread rolls and a selection of sauces to choose from – we call them Pigs in Buns. The chef also prepared a sweet Sticky Toffee Pudding for desserts.
When it was time to go, the team from Hog Roast Loughborough tidied away their mess quickly and quietly, disposing of any waste off site. Claire and Jessica couldn’t thank us enough for all we had done, and assured us that they would be booking again soon. If you have an event that you want to make special, then why not give the team at Hog Roast Loughborough a call and book a free consultation? You’ll be amazed by what we do.
