Hog Roast Buckden didn’t just provide a scrumptious spit-roast lunch to 150 contractors last Friday, but also provided the team before them a delicious breakfast!
What could possibly be the most perfect, on the go breakfast? Breakfast baps of course!
At 6am, the catering manager of Hog Roast Buckden along with his assistant arrived on site. They unloaded the van and set up. The pig was in the titan machine in one side of the gazebo, ready to be turned on at 9am ready for a 2pm lunch serve. The BBQ was on the opposite side, ready to ignite so that the breakfast essentials could start cooking.
The lucky workers had the choice of bacon, sausage or egg… or anyone feeling particularly hungry could have a combination of the three. To go the extra mile, with the idea stemming from the all-time favourite McDonalds, Hog Roast Buckden had brought slices of cheese to put in the baps if anyone desired it.
There was a selection of sauces such as ketchup, brown and American-style mustard and a selection of bread rolls such as cheese, white, wholemeal or seeded.
As the 9:30am serve arrived, the 130 workers indulged in the breakfast baps, many of them going for the full monty: bacon, sausage and egg. The egg was fried with equipment rings to keep them separate from the meat in case of any vegetarians.
Hog Roast Buckden was meant to serve for two hours, but after an hour the workers had had their fill leaving only a few scraps of bacon left which the catering manager and his assistant enjoyed! Obviously only after being advised by the site manager of course.
The catering manager and his assistant, cleaned and tidied up and started prepping for the lunch, making salads and cooking potatoes.
Breakfast baps are something different for corporates to book, they always go down well with workers, why not give it a go?
