Hog Roast Derby recently catered Jeremy’s party at home, where we cooked a hog roast for 25 guests in his back garden, in the lovely spring sunshine. When Jeremy called us to book, he told us that for his 40th birthday celebration, he wanted to enjoy something special with his friends and family members and that he had been recommended to us by a friend who had loved our hog roast rolls.
To make these pieces of heaven, which we call pigs in buns, we prepare the meat from scratch at your venue so it’s nice and fresh, and then roast it slowly for hours on end until we get a crispy, salty outer, full of crunchy crackling, and a moist and tender inside, with meat that falls off the bone and melts in the mouth. Once carved up, we add bits of the meat and crackling to soft, floury bread rolls (and we can also serve them in fresh wraps too), top with our own recipe apple sauce and sage and onion stuffing and then hand over to you and your guests to add condiments if preferred. Once tasted, you’ll certainly be back for more!
On the day of Jeremy’s party, our Hog Roast Derby chef and catering assistant cooked up a storm for the hungry guests, after spending a good few hours watching over the hog as it sizzled in its own juices. By the time we cleared away, the hog had been stripped clean and there were lots of satisfied people enjoying the rest of the party.
